The Authors conclude that it is necessary to include neonatal neurology in the agenda of changes to be implemented in neonatal medicine, applying the knowledge and technological means now available to bring about care centred on the brain. We encourage hospital and NICU managers to make neonatal neurology a high priority in neonatal medicine, and to implement strategies to better ensure success in improving the quality of neurological care for neonates and their families, utilising quality improvement methodology and a data-driven approach.
